The police team investigating the incident of attack on a group of journalists in Kiryani Talab area of Bathindi is in a fix, as the youth involved in assault are sons of a political worker, owing allegiance to a ruling party.
Though police has not confirmed the identity of parents of arrested youth yet a large number of locals in the area claimed the police is under pressure from the leaders of the ruling dispensation to go slow in the matter and prevent further flare up of tension in the area.
The parents of arrested youth are plot owners where some of the illegal immigrants have set up kiosks and temporary structures to run their small businesses. They have been regularly helping the local leaders in organising small political gatherings and other programmes in the area.

On Tuesday when some media men were busy doing their stories these youth exchanged some hot words with one of the media persons. As the slugfest continued one of the youth attacked a media person and also tried to beat him up with a log of wood. Before the situation could took an ugly turn some of the onlookers intervened and prevented the brutal attack on journalists.
After returning from the spot the journalists had lodged a complaint in Trikuta Nagar Police Station. Acting swiftly in the matter the police team responded quickly and arrested two youth Mohd Ashraf and Sher Mohammad from the area.
According to highly placed official sources, “Efforts are going on behind the scene to withdraw the FIR and ensure early release of the arrested youth”.
Some of the other well connected workers of the ruling party are also trying to get in touch with the journalists to explore the possibility of rapprochement
