Kathua Campus of JU organizes Tech Quiz

MCA Department of Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, organized a Tech Quiz competition “GEOPMINDS – 2k17” for the students of MCA II & IV semesters.
More than 35 students of the Department participated in the competition. The Tech Quiz was conducted in two stages. The stage first was the elimination round in which a Written Quiz of 30 questions in 30 minutes was conducted. The performance was evaluated on the number of correct answers. The more challenging and interesting stage was stage second in which only top ten students were selected and segregated in five groups.
The Quiz covered questions on current trends in IT, Programming languages, Databases, Operating systems and the other topics related to IT.
Ankush Mahajan and Vinay Khajuria became quiz masters by clinching the first position. Prinka Sharma and Sapandeep Kour secured second position and Meetali Verma and Preeti Devi secured the third position.
Earlier, Professor Rajni Kant, Rector, Kathua Campus, emphasized that eye contact during the conversation is of utmost importance and that is possible only by the inculcation of virtues like hard work and honesty. Moreover, he recommended that participation in such events reflects the in-depth knowledge of the subject and generates confidence that in turn pays off in future assignments of the professional/corporate world and civil society.
The tech quiz “GEOPMINDS – 2k17” was an audiovisual treat. There were three rounds in the second stage out of which the Buzzer round was the most interesting.
Earlier, Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head, MCA Department and Organizing Secretary of the competition “GEOPMINDS – 2k17”, assured that more such activities shall be undertaken in near future to make the Campus a more vibrant and happening institution.
The proceedings of the tech quiz “GEOPMINDS – 2k17” were carried out by Riti Prakash Katal. Ajay Lakhnotra, Amardeep Sharma, Arun Singh, Bharat Bhushan and Ankita Kangotra coordinated the whole programme.
At the end, Amit Sharma presented a formal vote of thanks.
