Himalayas well known as the youngest mountain range is spread from Indus river valley to Brahmaputra river valley. The Himalayan ranges include the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, Mount Everest and K2. The range is made up of many peaks like Dhaula Dhar, Zanskar, Pir Pinjal, East Karakoram, Shivalik Hills and Ladakh range. But the main peaks are Zanskar, Karakoram (east) and Ladakh range.
Zanskar range is spread at the distance of 7000 sqr km. and height ranges from 3500 to 7000 mtrs. The Zanskar range divides the Zanskar city from the Ladakh city. The Zanskar range acts as a backbone to the south Ladakh. Many rivers start from this range like Hanle river, Khurna river, Suru river, Shingo river and Zanskar river, which flows down to the Indus river. Zanskar range also has many Passes which are best for trekking. The most popular trek is Bawalocha Pass and other known passes are Cha Cha La, Fatu La, Rubrang La and Singge La. Lahaul and Spiti region lies in the eastern region of the Zanskar. The range ends close to the India Nepal border, near Kali river.

This range is the second tallest range on the earth after first the longest mid ocean ridge. Karakoram also known as Karakorum means black rock. This range also includes K2 (also known as Mount Godwin Austen) is the second highest peak in the world after Everest.The east Karakoram Range naturally divided the India from central Asia. The Ladakh range is an important part in the Himalayan range that merge ahead in Kailash range in Tibet. Ladakh rage lies in the northern region of Leh. This range also has famous Khardungla Pass and other Digar la in the north east. The Ladakh range is composite of granite rock. As the climate of Ladakh range has scanty rainfall, the temperature in summer goes to 30 degree Celsius and in winter it goes below 0 degree Celsius.
