Police organises anti-drug awareness programme

In continuation to operation Paathshala launched by SSP Jammu to aware every student about drug abuse, on Tuesday a seminar on anti-drug awareness programme was organized by the SDPO R S Pura, Surinder Choudhary in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sai Kalan, Jammu. Besides the students, school staff, SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Sharma was also present on the occasion. SDPO R S Pura briefed the students about the evils of drugs and their harmful effects in life. He also briefed the school staff about their role and responsibility to prevent the students from drug menace. He appealed to the teachers/students of the school to keep eagle's eye on those students who are indulging in the usage of narcotics and psychotropic substances. If they find any drug addict, they should inform the nearby police or at Dial 100 service of police for immediate action, he said and asked the students to channelize their energy in sports activities and to make their future career bright instead of indulging in drug abuse. Participants were also briefed about the road safety tips. They were requested to obey the traffic rules i.e. wear helmet while driving two wheelers, use of seat belt and to always cross the road at Zebra Crossing etc. to avoid road accidents. They were also advised not to drive without a valid driving license. The school principal presented vote of thanks.
