Kalamkari Centre Society (KCS) organised an awareness camp at Village Kandi and Gurha Brahmana, Lale Da Bagh here on Thursday.
The camp was organised with an aim to highlight the facilities being provided by Jammu and Kashmir State Women’s Development Corporation for skilled and semi-skilled and even unskilled women folk of the State.
Purnima Chaudhri, Patron KCS motivated the women gathering to be self-skilled and help her family and give their children better health and education.
Jyoti Bhat, Field Supervisor, Kalamkari Centre Society, explained the various schemes being provided by JKWDC for the school drop-outs and the ones who could not complete their studies with one or the other reasons. She also highlighted the educational loan facility being provided to the girl child for continuing her education for further studies.
The loan facilities under various categories like cosmetic shop, crockery shop, boutique, dairy farming, agro based programmes like pickle making, jam making, candies, etc. were also discussed in detail.
