Nutrition Fair organised at SOS Children Village at Gole Gujral in Jammu

Community Food and Nutrition Extension Unit Jammu, Food and Nutrition Board, Government of India, Ministry of Women and Child Development organised one day nutrition exhibition at SOS Childrens Village, Gole Gujral here on Friday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr S Premi Devi, Deputy Technical Adviser, Food and Nutrition Board, GoI. Dr. Dinesh Kumar Prof and Head Community Medicine Department, GMC, Jammu and Madali Shriniwash Zonal Director, SOS Childrens Village were the Guests of Honour.
The objective of the exhibition was to intensify awareness generation on the importance of nutrition for ICDS functionaries and beneficiaries, general public of nearby villages and functionaries and beneficiaries of SOS Childrens Village, Gole Gujral adopted villages. Balance of different age group instant infant food, food groups and its functions, micronutrients and its functions, rich sources of calcium, increase nutritive value without any extra cost, advantages of sprouting, low cost nutritious recipes and fruits and vegetables products were displayed. Panels on cycle of malnutrition, various micronutrients and sources sprouting, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, adolescent nutrition, instant infant food, role of fruits and vegetables were displayed on the occasion.
Ravindra Kumar, In-charge CFNEU, Jammu, Jagirdas Director and Geeta Raqwal, SOS Childrens Village, Ashok Raina Vice Principal, HGS and Ram Prasad Meena were present on the occasion.
