State Congress unit on Thursday celebrated its 133rd Foundation Day here at Party Headquarters.
Led by President JKPCC, G.A Mir a large number of Senior Congress leaders, PCC functionaries, Legislators, DCC & Block Committees and Frontal Organizations celebrated the day amidst beating of drums and distribution of sweets by the DCC Jammu (U) led by Anil Chopra.
PCC Chief hoisted the Congress Tricolor at Congress Headquarters amidst large gathering and singing of national song.
Former PCC President, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Senior Vice-President Sham Lal Sharma, CLP Leader N Rigzin Jora, Taj Mohi-Ud-Din, Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan, Th Hari Singh, Mumtaz Khan (MLA), Ravinder Sharma, Farooq Andrabi, Rajnish Sharma, General Secretaries Manjit Singh, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Vikram Malhotra, Th. Manmohan Singh, S.S Channi, Hilal Shah, Namrta Sharma and Shah Nawaz Choudhary, Ex-MLAs Swarn Lata, Indu Pawar, Krishan Chandar Bhagat, Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Th. Shiv Dev Singh, G.L. Chalotra and Ashok Dogra, DCC Presidents Subash Gupta (Ex-MLC), Sain Ab Rasheed and Ashok Gupta, Heads of Frontal Organizations (Shiv Kumar Sharma INTUC, B.S Sambyal Seva Dal and Neeraj Kundan NSUI were also present on the occasion.
Addressing a gathering PCC Chief asked the party cadres to get ready for Panchayat elections in the State although the present PDP-BJP Government has already taken away the powers of Panchayats by unreasonable and undemocratic amendment to the Panchayat Raj Act. Mir said that present coalition has completed more than three years but there is no achievement on any front. The Congress will expose the government inside the legislature and outside in the ground on various fronts and asked cadres to be ready for this, he said.
Senior Vice-President, Sham Lal Sharma, while referring to the sacrifices of Congress leader during its long history said that Congress alone has capability to carry alone all sections of the society.

Meanwhile, Srinagar Congress unit also celebrated the Foundation Day of Party at Party Headquarters, Srinagar.
