To mark the first Navratra ‘Navreh celebrations’, a congregation of devotees attended the annual function held here at the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala, Bohri.
The function started with the Guru Vandana.
As usual, Guru-Geeta recitation competition was held on the occasion in which 30 competitors participated. This competition is held with a view to promote Bhagawaan consciousness in the youth.
The competitors were categorised as Sub-Junior Group (upto the 5th Standard), Junior Group (beyond the 5th Standard and upto the 8th Standard).
Maharaj Krishan Santoshi Kamlesh Tufchi and Krishan Ji Pandita acted as the judges on the occasion.
The participants who bagged first, second and third prize in the Sub-Junior group include Simran Choudhary, Mahi Sharma and Mansi Bhardwaj respectively. In Junior Group Narmata Bhat, Mishika Moza and Harshulla Ganjoo bagged first, second and third prize respectively. Certificates and trophies were given to the position holders in each group. All other participants were given certificates.
The function was presided over by Kusum Pandita, who praised the organizers for holding such type of seminars.
An eight-day long spiritual activity in connection with the Navratra Festival also started at the Jammu Ashram. The activity actually started with Hawan at 8:00 PM on the March 17, 2018. This activity will continue to be held at the Ashram from 4:30 to 7:30 AM daily during these auspicious days and the Puran Ahuti will take place on March 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM followed by Prasad distribution at 1:30 PM. Vote of thanks was presented by the Vice-President of the Trust.
Meanwhile, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference celebrated Navreh Milan with gaiety and the Kashmiri Pandit New Year was heralded with prayers for peace, prosperity and dignity for the community.
Addressing a large gathering, President All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), Advocate Ravinder Raina hoped that the New Year would usher in peace and brotherhood in the beleaguered State which could pave the way for a dignified return of the Kashmiri Pandit community to the Valley.
On the occasion, Vijay Bakaya, Ex-MLC, was the Chief Guest who emphasised on strengthening the core KP organisations like ASKPC and KPS Amphalla.
Earlier, Veena Gurtoo, President Women Wing presented welcome address.
D.N Kissu, who was the Guest of Honour, highlighted the contribution of ASKPC in upliftment and welfare of the KP community.
Dr T.K Bhat General Secretary presented annual report of ASKPC.
Senior Vice President, R.K Wangnoo performed the Navreh rituals and Shoki Lidoo recited a poem and a Bhajan while Anil Kaul Singeri regaled the audience with his comedy.
The audience appreciated a poem read by Kusum Dhar, expressive of the feelings of mother Kashir. The programme was followed up with Naveed and Zangtrai by the Women Wing of ASKPC.

Similarly, Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Amphalla, organized 105th Navreh Samaroh with great fervor here today.
On the occasion, Sat Sharma, MLA Jammu West and BJP State President was the Chief Guest while Ashok Koul, General Secretary, (Organization) BJP, J&K, was Guest of Honour. The function began with lighting of lamp by the guests accompanied by President of KP Sabha, K.K Khosa and A.K Braroo, Senior Vice President, K.P Sabha.
S.L Bagati, General Secretary of K.P Sabha read the annual report highlighting the achievements of the Sabha.
Later, Khosa gave a brief over 105 years existence of KP Sabha and the aim for which Sabha was framed and its role in Jammu ethos and culture.
Khosa reminded that Temples & Shrines Bill should be passed as early as possible as community religious property is being encroached upon and looted and government continued to be a mute spectator. He drew the attention of BJP State President towards the problem of encroachment of religious places of KP Community in Valley.
Pyare Lal Hatash gave a decent account of Kashmiri Pandits contribution to Indian culture apart from highlights of Navreh heritage.
Ashok Kaul spoke about the significance of the Navreh and stressed about the need to carry forward the religious and cultural legacy by present generation to the next generation.
Sat lauded the courage of KP community for its efforts to lift itself to greater heights after displacement from Kashmir.
A cultural programme was arranged and noted vocalist Shanti Lal Sidh and his team sang melodious Bhajans on this occasion. Ashok Braroo, Senior Vice President, K.P Sabha presented vote of thanks.
Athrot Charitable, Socio Cultural Trust, organised Navreh Milan at Government College for Women, Parade Ground.
On the occasion, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest while M.L Raina Relief Commissioner Migrants Jammu, Omkar Nath Shastri Owner and Founder Kashmiri Panchang and Manoj Pandita AIG Welfare PHQ were the Guests of Honour.
Kavinder Gupta along with Ravinder Pandita, Founder of Save Sharda Committee, New Delhi, released document ‘Navreh’ written by Upender Ambardar.
Welcome address was presented by Kanwal Peshin, a renowned actor writer and comedian who is cultural ambassador of Athrot.
Play skit Navreh Thaal written and directed by Kanwal Peshin was also presented on the occasion. The actors who performed in the play were Jatinder Jotshi, Arvin Tickoo, Suman Bhat, Kanwal Peshin, Daksh Bhat, Anjali Pandita, Chhavi Koul, Himanshu Pandita, Nirmit Raina, Pranav Pandita, Anmol Raj and Rohit Bhat. Hari Kirtan Adyatmik Jagriti Mission Durga Nagar under the guidance of Bushan Lal Bhat Sharnagat sung three Bhajans.
Dr J.N Raina President Hari Kirtan Satsang Jagriti Mission, Rakesh Koul Sampooran Kashmir Sangathan, Kamal Ganjoo, Jatinder Jotshi, Arvin Tickoo and Suman Bhat were felicitated for their contribution in preservation of culture.
