While appreciating Member Parliament (MP) Doda-Udhampur constituency and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh for his achievements regarding sanctioning of major developmental projects for District Doda, Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) district Doda unit demanded district status and opening of cluster university at Bhadarwah.
BJP district president Advocate Manjeet Razdan while addressing a press conference along with other senior party functionaries of the district at Bhadarwah highlighted the achievements of Dr. Jitendra Singh and local MLA Daleep Singh Parihar during last three years.
He praised Dr Jitendra for sanctioning National Institute of High Altitude Medicinal Plants for Bhadarwah besides declaring Thathri-Kahaljugasar-Kilotran-Makhan-Chachool (HP) as new National Highway and upgradation of All India Radio Bhadarwah. “These projects will go a long way in development of this hilly district and will surely help in generating employment and eradicating poverty from the region, “he said adding that efforts of MLA are also appreciable, who projected demands of Bhadarwah constituency in a proper way.
“Bhadarwah is one of the oldest administrative units of the State, which is also strategically located and deserves district status. We are hopeful that State and Union Government will take a decision on merits and will provide Bhadarwah with District status besides setting up of Cluster University at Bhadarwah Campus, “Razdan demanded.
The other demands for Bhadarwah which were highlighted by BJP leaders during the Press Conference include setting up of Horticulture College, AD Fisheries, shifting of DIET to its original place (Bhadarwah), releasing funds and declaring Bhadarwah-Chamba road as National Highway, setting up of transmission tower of AIR Bhadarwah at village Thubba for better coverage and Area Development Officer (ADO) powers to ADC Bhadarwah.
The BJP functionaries however resented over alleged discrimination by the State Government on some developmental issues of the area.
“Union government released Rs. 500 crore for the development authorities of the State, we are unable to understand that where is the share of Bhadarwah Development Authority (BDA) and for this Kashmir centric politicians of the Collation government are responsible, “said Sanjay Saraf, District Secretary and Incharge Swachh Bharat Mission district Doda, demanding that R&B Minister Naeem Akhter should immediately fulfill his promise and release funds for permanent restoration of Interstate Bhadarwah-Chamba road.
Senior District Vice President Raj Singh Kotwal, District Secretary Sanjay Saraf, District Working Committee Member Bal Krishan, Mandal Pradhans Ramneek Manhas and Devinder Kotwal, Mohd Amin Mandal Pradhan Minority Cell and Firdous Ahmed District Secretary Minority Cell were also present.
