Is marriage a hindrance for women?

In our Indian society as soon as a girl turns 23 she is predominantly forced to get married, otherwise, she will not be able to get a good match for herself. The career of a woman is not that important in comparison to a man as she is not the breadwinner of the family. But, in most cases, this perception has been overruled by plenty of strong women.
This rule applies primarily to the female actors of Bollywood. If an actress gets hitched her career was meant to be over or she will be given roles of a mother or some secondary roles in a movie.
But with time things have changed and people are becoming more adaptable to the prevailing situations. Now we have numerous successful actresses who are not only married but also have kids and still, they are enjoying their stardom.

Few examples are:

Kajol was the queen of mainstream cinema back in the '90s and even after getting married to Ajay Devgn, she continued to rule the hearts of her fans with blockbuster films like Fanaa, My Name is Khan. Kajol knows how to pick the right kind of projects and not do movies just for the heck of staying in news.

Madhuri Dixit Nene

She may not have done a whole bunch of movies post marriage, but Madhuri Dixit Nene still knows how to turn heads and make men go weak in the knees. With her prowess in dancing, she's judged multiple dance reality shows, giving constructive feedback to contestants to make them better, episode after episode.

Vidya Balan

Known for picking up the most unconventional roles in the industry, Vidya continued her streak of acting in women-oriented films even after she tied the knot with UTV's head Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

She's one of the most beautiful actors in the industry, and her stunning performance in films like Sarabjit, Jodha Akbar has been widely appreciated. A mom, wife, and an international celebrity—Aishwarya surely knows how to maintain work-life balance.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena's always maintained that she wants to be an actor for as long as she lives. She got hitched to her long-time boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in 2012 and didn't let that damper her career in B-Town. Not only has she been consistently doing films with meaty roles, she's done some pretty path-breaking movies.

Let's hope our society starts accepting career of a woman diligently.
