Patwaris’ strike enters day 29

The ongoing indefinite strike of Patwaris and Gridawars on the call given by the All J&K Patwar Association has severely affected the working of the Revenue Department in the State on 29th consecutive day with the association refusing to move till their demands are fulfilled.
“We demand grade pay of graduate Patwaris, timely DPC, creation of Patwar Halqas and GQ Circles, ban on direct recruitment of NTs, enhancement of allowances, rent for Patwar Khanas (Private Accommodation) till construction of Patwar Khanas, etc,” Senior Vice President AJKPA, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai said.
He alleged that the State Government has turned deaf ears towards the long pending demands of Patwari fraternity.
He asked government to fulfill demands of AJKPA at the earliest so that public may not suffer. “We are going for continuous pen down strike if government fails to fulfill our demands without any further delay,” he asserted. Those who joined the protest include Provincial President Jammu Farooq Ahmed Mailk, Ex State President AJKPA, Raman Raj Sharma, District President Jammu Kaleem Ahmed, District Vice President Rajan Kumar, District Secretary Jammu Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Accountant Sadeeq Ahmed and Cashier Jagdish.
