JDA Employees Welfare Association called off their strike after the assurance given by the Minister for Housing and Urban Development Department, Sat Sharma that their demands will be considered. The JDA Employees were on strike for the last 17 days.
Sat Sharma on Monday visited Dharna site of JDA employees and interacted with the employees/officers of JDA.
While addressing the employees of JDA, the minister made clear that 7th Pay Commission benefits will be released by the Vice Chairman JDA in the salary of June with the arrears. He took exception to the behaviour of the certain employees and advised them not to fall prey to any false propaganda and concentrate on the work for the growth and development of authority.
The minister instructed for strict punctuality and disposal of cases by the employees. However pertaining to the enhancement of daily wage rates as per the rates notified by the Labour Department, he announced adoption of the same by JDA and asked the Vice Chairman, JDA to process the cases and submit to the competent authority/Board of Directors.
The Vice Chairman intimated that some employees have been illegally engaged in past by Vice Chairman’s/Chairpersons without prior approval from the Board of Directors/ Chairman and release of the wages in their favour will require proper sanction so that there is no illegality/wrong decision at his level.
Ashok Singh Jamwal, Chairman of the Association, said that all demands of the JDA employees have been considered by the minister. He mentioned that after the intervention of minister, the JDA has also agreed to revoke ‘No Work No Pay’ order. The issue of 7th Pay Commission and enhancement in the wages of the daily wagers were also considered by the minister on the spot, he added.
K.B Agarwal, Financial Commissioner, H&UDD, Vice Chairman JDA, Director Land Management JDA, Superintending Engineer JDA, Collector Land Acquisition JDA and Executive Engineer were also present.
