JAMMU, Aug 22: National Institute for Skills Development (NISD) Kathua has launched the admission to beauty and makeup, fashion designing and other professional courses, here.
On the occasion, the chief guest was Choudhary Lal Singh, MLA Basholi, Former Minister, who cut the ribbon to launch the admission process.
While speaking, Former Minister talked about the necessity of skills for students. He cited the example of the current market situation vis-à-vis Government jobs and advised students to look beyond these current trends and focus on skill courses.
He also talked about the plans to raise the standard of Skill Development Institutions like NISD in order to be on par with the older institutions.
Sanjeev Kumar, Centre Director of NISD told that NISD’s main aim is to train J&K youth especially girls in career oriented courses. From last two years, more than 175 candidates of NISD got jobs in different locations of J&K and more than 50 candidates started their own business units in J&K.
He also enjoined the students to take up projects and make recommendations as regards to the development of this industrial town. Kumar also spoke about major skills development plans for the town of Kathua.
