JAMMU, Aug 23: J&K Rehbar-e-Talim Teachers Forum has geared up for the indefinite hunger strike at both the capitals of the State from August 30, call for which has been given by Teachers Joint Action Committee.
In this regard, an emergency meeting of the ReT Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of State president Vinod Sharma and provincial president Rajesh Jamwal. While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma expressed his deep concern on the delay in implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA Teachers and Masters even as benefits of 6th Pay Commission have already been given to them.
He also rued that the de-linking of SSA salary from the source of funding (MHRD) to State budget has not been done so for and this delaying attitude of the Government is forcing the teachers to come on roads .
He appealed all the district presidents, zonal presidents and all the RET teachers of Jammu province to gear up for indefinite hunger strike at Press Club Jammu from August 30, 2018 onwards and participate enmass in said hunger strike.
