Earthquake of 5.6 magnitude strikes North India

Kashmir jolted as a 5.6-magnitude earthquake took place last night although there were no reports of casualties or any damage.

“An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale occurred at 10:17 p.m. on Tuesday,” Met Officials said.

The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 40 kilometres in northwestern Kashmir, 118 kilometres from Srinagar, the officials said

Many people in the Valley came out of their residences to protect themselves, said reports.
