JAMMU: In atypical bollywood sequel, an inspector of Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) has turned as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’ for a woman from Madhya Pradesh who went missing in this winter capital of the state.
“Soon after getting the information about missing women the cop took the reunion of missing woman as a mission and set for it devotedly,” police sources said.
The missing woman has been identified as Heena Khan, daughter of Iqbal Khan, resident of PGBT College, Krishna Colony, House Number 60, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
“After hectic efforts of nearly two-weeks, the cop finally succeeded in tracing the family of the missing woman and today the woman formally was handed over to family members at Police Station Nowabad in Jammu.
Sharing details of his efforts, Raghubir Choudhary, Station House Officer (SHO), Police Station Nowabad said, “On the fateful night of March 8, a distress call was received from some people that a woman was abandoned near Dogra Chowk following which flying squad of police was rushed to the spot.”
Choudhary said that the woman was shifted to Women Cell, Gandhi Nagar and later she was sent to Neha Ghar in Kachhi Chawni a Short Stay Home for destitute women, sponsored by Central Social Welfare Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development Government of India.
“The woman was later shifted to Nari Niketan in R S Pura, he said, further adding, “the woman who had not disclosed her identity during the police custody suddenly revealed her identity to a lady at Nari Niketan that she belonged to Gautam Nagar in Madhya Pradesh and her name is Heena,”.
Choudhary asserted that after establishing contacts with Police at Goutam Nagar in Madya Pradesh, the police finally on March 18, the police found that the local police Goutan Nagar too had a missing report in this regard.
“The relatives including the brother of missing woman this morning arrived here and she was handed over to them after completion of legal formalities,” SHO Nowabad added.
